Design Your Dream Life Through Passive Income | Alex Szepietowski | TEDxUniversityofYork

Legendary Entrepreneurs Show You How to Start, Launch & Grow a Digital Business… Click here!

Alex describes his experiences as a young entrepreneur and the steps many others could take to follow in his footsteps.

After interning in every industry he possibly could, Alex realised that, more than any job in the world, he wanted to be his own boss. In 2012, without money or experience and in his 3rd year of PPE at York (Derwent College), Alex read ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ and decided to start investing in property. He spent his student loan on learning how it was done, and 2 years later owned 24 houses and won a few national awards. Alex is incredibly passionate about inspiring others to believe in themselves and forge their own path, irrespective of their circumstances, or what ‘the norm’ dictates!

a million and a half views…maybe this is his coming out party to announce to the 99% that, well, he isn’t one of them- because passive income.

What a jeb-end. He was in the right place right time. He is about 10. I have seen many people make excessive wealth. You know what I realised, right place, right mindset right time. For the rest of us we statistically miss the boat.

TV is full of infomercials about passive income – especially real estate – by people who make most of their money by selling CD’s about how to create passive income to wishful thinkers.

  11. Justice Hunter sagt:

    I’ve talked to a few millionaire/billionaires (i’m being serious)

they all say this kind of stuff. Just got to get creative in what passive means for you.

Work a couple years, and make sales without any effort later on…or perhaps set up the proverbial „vending machines“ which costs some money at first, but over time it’ll make your investment back and then some. Youtube ad revenue is a form of passive income. So are entertainment royalties, something that the entire industry is based on, to make money.

so really, that’s all he’s saying. You need to find a passive income source. …i’m sure some of you smart folks out there can come up with some more complicated ideas. Just keep in mind, that if you are interested in doing a service business, it’s not a passive income. Running security for example is not passive income. You need to dedicate a person to do security…

…unless of course you invest in a bunch of high tech cameras and computer systems…now all of a sudden you have a bunch of companies that give you time-based contracts and they pay you for that. bam, passive income.

Anyway, feel free to list some ideas in this comment thread so that others can try and get some ideas.

    For me personally :
    Selling royalty free beats/songs online
Selling and reselling the same digital products across different platforms (like Ebooks, photoshop/plugin presets, templates and tools, images, stock videos etc..)
Generate ad revenue via blogs/websites, with timeless subjects (like „how do i shave my beard?“, or “ When will the universe end?“)

No specific knowledge whatsoever, read more on my blog.

It should be forbidden that people who don’t know how they became successful teach other people how to be successful. Nothing against Alex, he’s just so far from being able to explain what he did right

  17. Royal Auto Sales & Service, Inc sagt:

I remember 25 years ago, in the newspaper before the internet boom, most of those speakers used to work harder and put small ads in the newspaper talking about secret of becoming rich and fast, Now the internet made easier for them to make easy money by making these motivational videos and none of them talk about the real deal how they really become millionaires if they are really millionaires. you have to be really low self esteem to believe all this, At the end you have to get your credit card ready and willing to pay $1k or more to buy a course!!!

This has got to be the first TEDx talk that is absolute rubbish!
